What Is The Nicest Thing Anyone Has Said To You?

It is pretty easy to remember all the wrong and bad things someone said to you or says about you. What about the good stuff Chum?

Click click, the picture was snapped. My roommate and I decided to go through the pictures and then, there was this particular one where I smiled so wide, you could see my complete sets of teeth (not 32 by the way) but you could see everything. I was smiling from ear to ear. It was one of those pictures that would fall under the category of โ€œum, you fine, but nah.โ€

I know right, growing up in an environment like mine, you would hear nice things almost every day; something to make you smile, jabs at you to make you better, conversations that keep you going, affirmations that leaves you grounded and it goes on and on. From side comments such as you are so beautiful to swagu! To weird things like Baby (from my baby sister by the way *rollseyes*) or like a colleague used to say, pretty woman (an irony yeah). Or with my dad stopping in mid conversations to remind me of my fine set of teeth or my friend, Sammie, that writes me short notes once in a while filled with sweet words or Yang that can never go wrong with rhymes and lines or my lovely uncle that points me to my strengths. These things add up whether I accept it or not and a huge percentage of them have helped form a part of my being.

Some days, it is strictly a one-time thing. And then, we travel, as always. We change our environment and it changes us in return where you are left in ecstasy between joy and a heart break or between a blank face and a smile.

In that moment, you become awake in a world, in that little space of yours having no account of wrongs or politics or complications for it only consisted of people who were being kind with words, who told you the truth, even for once, that the words spoken to you is as pure as what you are.

I was in SSS1 in a boarding school going to see my school mother and then I bumped into a friend of hers- I remember her name. Bolu Akintewe (she is married now, I guess) said; Oh Ochez, you have such a beautiful smile. Chum, I smiled and I doubt I have recovered from what she said 8 years ago. And seeing that she probably said it subconsciously or canโ€™t even remember she said so to me reassures or certifies the point that little words of kindness, nice comments go a long way in shaping an individual.

And there is the part where you get to know how dope you are without validation, congratulation, or a celebration- says someone I admire from a distance.

The nicest things anyone has said to me are found in a pool of conversations, small talks, and lengthy dialogues.

So, there comes a plethora of so many nice things someone has said to you too. Kindly share yours Chum.

Stay Confident

I find expression writing about life, style, and personal development even as it relates to our day to day activities. This is coupled with the fact that words have a lasting impact on people so I ensure to use them for good.

  • I enjoy reading this article. Thank you Chey

  • Nice one, Ochez.

I’ve gotten a lot of amazingly pretty comments or compliments but the one that got me all smiles recently was when a guy stopped, waited for me to get close to him and said; my sister, God too bless you. It tickled me ๐Ÿ˜ And I get the ‘nice smile’ compliment a lot too.

  • Sweet write-up ๐Ÿ“… It got me thinking alot of us find it hard to bless those close to us with kind words that put smile โ˜บ on their faces ๐Ÿค—. One of the best words that have put smile on my face is *You are a good friend* After this, I always laugh out loud “inside” ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜…

  • I really can’t remember ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ…
    Your eyes speak intelligence
Aeroplane engine in a beetle car?
Your name speaks you, you are really elaborate
    You are beautiful
    I love your wits
You’re quite overly matured mentally for your age
You will be a great person
    Thank you my dear
    Sorry about that
    You’ll be fine
    You go be my connect

Now that I’ve come to think about it ….
    They’re quite a lot
But I don’t know why most times I end up focusing on the negatives and forget this positives which have actually helped… unknowingly.. Helped me become a better person to fit more into these views and has also helped get me through another day on planet earth

    • ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… I totally feel you. Getting a lot of positive comments but focusing on the negative, was like that.

When you do truly appreciate and value yourself then you’ll learn to see and dwell more on the positive. Someone tells me; you look good. And my response will always be; I know right? Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜ It wasn’t always like this.

    • That personal realisation is on another level. And then, we would all have to get there. Like Abigail said, …it wasn’t always like this. And I’m so proud of you and certain that you are all things beautiful as much as joyful. Thank you Joyโค

  • Kind word can speak power into someoneโ€™s life. It can inspire. It can motivate. And it can provide strength to someone who canโ€™t find it within themselves.
This was beautifully expressed and thank you for the reminder
