WHY COVID 19 IS NOT THE TITLE OF THIS POST + OTHER THINGS I WANT TO SAY

Colour me shocked, fearless, lowkey happy (just because of the break) when I heard about the recent happening in the world. I do not intend to bore you with the details and how much you and I should cling to safety. I practically stalled this post for two major reasons

1. I do not want to write about just COVID 19 and, 2. It feels like there’s a whole lot still going on in the world apart from the pandemic.

There’s more free time, there’s food, family, business, internet, ochuzupdate, fun, sleep and more importantly news (which sums up to the good, the bad and the ugly). Saying there’s a whole lot going on in the world apart from COVID 19 makes me realise that as much as we are going through this phase, it will definitely pass too.

While I am not one that is bent on a one road map that leads to the destination, I feel that at this point, it is pretty much easy to lose sight of the real and important things and paying attention to what doesn’t matter bearing in mind that important and real is subjective to everyone.
I have learnt four major things during this period. See deets below.

To focus on what is important.

In my last post where I wrote about adulthood, it’s very likely that this is still a part of it. This period has given me the time to do some checks and balances making it possible for me to be clear about what I want. At least, for now. In between work and leisure, there is fun, peace of mind, focus and understanding.

We are more connected than we are disconnected.

The world is a global village is often used as a pick up line to start a debate or an interesting discussion about what unites us a country and the world at large. It is helping each other on our way up, praying and taking the necessary actions to ensure that this chaos leads us back to peace.

My faith is made stronger.

Trusting God for directions and studying his word gives me an assurance that all is well. I have been listening to a particular message centered around being positive in a negative world and although, I haven’t completed the audio, I definitely would.

You can download the audio here.

Value every moment

With the dancing pallbearers trending for almost every video in this period, amidst the gift of family, and getting lost in a book or taking an online course, you would go on to discover that times like these are times we would never get back.

We should cherish these experiences and use them to anchor our hope. Because this virus, like any other challenge, cannot be allowed to define us, our identities or our life purpose and paths. We cannot let it consume us. We cannot sacrifice our identities and self-worth to it. Because the moment we do that, we lose love and we lose ourselves.

How have you been keeping up Chum, feel free to share in the comment box below.

I find expression writing about life, style, and personal development even as it relates to our day to day activities. This is coupled with the fact that words have a lasting impact on people so I ensure to use them for good.
